COVID POLICY

RE-OPENING 12 APRIL 2021

As most of you already know we had a major incident on 10th February when a car slammed into one of our shopfronts inflicting considerable damage inside and out. We're working busily to get repairs completed in time, but whatever happens we will be operational from day one and we will have all necessary safety measures in place!

We are so pleased to have a date - at last - to aim for and look forward to greeting each and every one of our wonderfully  supportive clients once again!


HAIR, BEAUTY & TANNING

In accordance with Government instructions our Beauty services are restricted and normal treatments to facial areas are not permitted.

Reception

  • We have changed our entrance door. Please use the left hand door unless instructed otherwise.
  • The door will be locked and manned.
  • A hand-sanitising station is available as soon as you enter the salon.
  • Please attend wearing a face covering that covers your mouth and nose unless you have a medical exemption. Please note that 'personal preference' does not qualify for exemption. Face coverings are mandatory for staff and customers in order for us to continue operating.
  • We do not have a reception waiting area.

Opening Times

  • We are working reduced hours (please see foot of page).
  • We have been instructed to operate by appointment only. This includes Sunbeds.

Appointment Changes & Restrictions

  • We will not be performing dry cuts for men or women.
  • ​Due to salon layout changes we are no longer offering spray tanning.
  • We will ask you a few health related questions and take your temperature when your arrive to make sure you are fit and well.
  • Please DO NOT attend an appointment if you or a household member show any symptoms of Covid-19, if you suspect you've been in recent close contact with anyone infected, or if NHS Test and Trace have told you to self-isolate. Staff are also compelled to self-isolate for 14 days under any of those circumstances.

Colour Safety

  • Every colour/tinting service (hair and beauty) will require an allergy patch test 48 hours beforehand.
  • We are posting out test kits ahead of appointments, with instructions how to conduct these at home. Please supply us  with your current postal address as soon as possible as we do not hold addresses on file.
  • If you’re having hair colour it is imperative that you tell us what home dyes you’ve used during lockdown. Some shop-bought products are chemically incompatible with professional colours and could result in very serious hair damage. We may have to conduct strand-tests before we can treat your hair. Please contact us with relevant information.

Attending your Appointment

  • Please arrive, unaccompanied, at your designated appointment time and we will do our utmost to run as close to schedule as possible.
  • If we experiencing delays affecting an imminent appointment we will advise you by phone. If you have changed your number recently please let us have current contact details.
  • If you arrive too early we may ask you to wait in your car.
  • ​If you’re using public transport and expect to arrive early please let us know in advance (0191 415 0665).​

PPE & Sanitisation

  • We're doing our utmost to maintain a pristine, well sanitised salon. Every service includes 10 minutes clean-down/prep time.
  • Please sanitise your hands when at Reception. Sanitising hands should be conducted in the same way you wash hands, ie for 20 seconds, rubbing into all surfaces thoroughly.
  • Please enter the building already wearing a face covering. We can sell you a mask if you don't have one.
  • Staff will be wearing masks and/or visors and use gloves, aprons, etc, whenever practicable.
  • Hair clients will be asked to put on their own gown and place it directly into the designated laundry basket before leaving. Gowns are used once then laundered at 60ºC.

Payment and Prices

  • We prefer not to have to handle cash and would ask that you pay by card no matter how small the bill. Contactless presently has a limit of £45 and ApplePay does not have a limit.
  • Prices have had to increase. We're really sorry. We've always tried to keep increases to a minimum and ask for your forbearance and understanding at this time.

Tanning

  • Bookable in 15 minute increments and spaced out 5 minutes apart across all 3 of our tanning units.
  • During peak hours sunbed sessions may have to be limited to 10 minutes to allow sufficient sanitisation and turn-around time. Please arrive at the salon on your own as we won't have a waiting area.

NHS Test & Trace

  • NHS Test & Trace need to be informed if you develop any Covid-19 symptoms. If you subsequently test positive you will be asked to name everyone you had close personal contact with (within a 2-meter range) for 15 minutes or longer, 48 hours prior to showing any symptoms.

    Every service we provide requires at least 15 minutes close contact with a stylist or therapist which would result in their 14 day absence. As we have a small team this could have a devastating impact on our livelihood, we must ask that you only see one therapist or stylist at each visit and that hair and beauty appointments be spaced out at least 3 days apart.

Retail

  • Whilst in the salon please do not handle any retail unless you are definitely making a purchase. Everything has been cleansed and sanitised for obvious reasons. Stylists and therapists can answer questions on price, application and benefits.
  • Many of our products are also available on our webstore https://salon2000store.co.uk with prices and descriptions there too. We also offer free UK delivery if there’s anything you forget during your visit.  

Refreshments

  • We are now permitted to offer you hot drinks in a disposable cup.  ​
We're all going to be reliant upon one another to stay vigilant until a vaccine comes along. We will be doing everything in our power to take best possible care of you.
